About Chameleon

Why do you request a credit card to secure an appointment?

We require a credit card to secure all appointments to minimize clients who do not show or call to cancel their appointments. There is no charge to the card unless there is a complete no-show to the appointment. Chameleon reserves the right to charge for no-show appointments.

What is your cancellation policy?

We request 24 hours notice for any appointments you are unable to make. We understand that work, family and life occurs, so we ask that you please call us if you are unable to fulfill an appointment.

Are gratuities included in Chameleon Prices?

Gratuities are not included in Chameleon’s prices and are done at the discretion of the client. Typical gratuities range from 15% to 20% and are greatly appreciated.

What forms of payment does Chameleon accept?

We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and checks with proper ID.

How soon should I arrive prior to my appointment?

We recommend ten minutes prior to your hair appointments and fifteen minutes prior to your spa and massage appointments.

How far in advance should I book my appointment?

We recommend two weeks to ensure the stylist of your choice.

What if I am unhappy with a service I received at Chameleon?

Please call us and we would be happy to schedule time to make it right at no charge. Do not feel bad, just let us know and we will fix it.

How should I explain to my stylist the look / color I want to achieve?

When booking your first appointment or making a change to your look, start by booking a complimentary consultation. This will give you a chance to meet your stylist, get to know them and communicate the look you want to achieve. Come with some photos to the consultation … as these are always a good starting point.

Is it ok to try different stylists when visiting Chameleon?

Yes- the entire Chameleon Team encourages it. Chameleon is a non-commissioned wage salon. We pay our stylists and spa teams good hourly rates so they are comfortable having you see other members of the team.

Why is the Chameleon Team so nice and friendly?

We start by only hiring nice and friendly people to work at Chameleon. We then focus on making your experience really pleasant and relaxing.

About Services

What attire is necessary for a spray tan?

Female clients can be sprayed in their bathing suit, underwear, or totally nude. Male clients must wear underwear / swim trunks. All of our spray tans are done by our professional female technicians.

About Waxing

We have a lot of waxing clients here at Chameleon, but we’ve noticed a lot of you are scared to try the Big B! Brazilian and Bikini waxing can be frightening to try, but here is some info and commonly asked questions to help you along!

How much does it cost?

Please refer to our Spa Services page for pricing. All of these prices are subject to the esthetician’s discretion. The price may rise or fall dependent upon the texture and amount of hair.

How long does it last?

It lasts 3-4 weeks to start. You should not be shaving in between. The longer you continue to have the procedure done, the longer it lasts.

Is there aftercare?

You should use a product like Tendskin or Bag Balm to prevent shave bumps, ingrown hairs, and folliculitis. Also moisturizing and exfoliating the day after is a great idea, but make sure that you are using a fragrance-free product.

What should I do to prepare for the treatment?

The hair has to grow to ¼ – ½ inch in length, and you should exfoliate in a circular motion several days in a row before coming in.

Can I have it done if I’m pregnant?

Yes you can wax, even up until the last couple of days, but because of hormones, your body is going to be more sensitive to touch and pain, so it may hurt more.

What if I have sensitive skin?

We have a more gentle wax that we can use on delicate skin. But your skin also may react more if you’re on medications like Retin-A and Renova. It is not safe to wax if you’re taking certain medications.

How long does it take?

It depends on the person, but generally 15-30 minutes, depending on how long / thick your hair is.

Does it hurt?

In short yes, but there are ways to make it hurt less. The hair should be at least ¼ inch. If shorter, it will hurt more. It should feel like a big bandaid is being ripped off . . . but your first time will always hurt the most.
